Welcome to STATS 67 - Introduction to Probability and Statistics for Computer Science in Winter 2026

Introduction to the basic concepts of probability and statistics with discussion of applications to computer science.

Prerequisite: Math 2B



By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • summarize data using descriptive statistics and visualizations;
  • select appropriate probability models and estimate models’ parameters;
  • make conclusions about population using sample data, by applying statistical inference techniques;
  • use R for basic probability and statistics tasks.

Midterm exam on Feb 4 during lecture time in class

Final exam

on Wed, Mar 18 at 8:00-10:00am for Lecture A in the same classroom (ICS 174)

on Mon, Mar 16 at 1:30-3:30pm for Lecture B in the same classroom (ICS 174)
